Manthethe Moipone Monethi is a highly qualified and experienced management and leadership professional with over 20 years of International NGOs management experience in Southern Africa. She is well-trained and exposed to operations in other parts of the world.

Manthethe holds a Master of Management and a Bachelor Degree in Economics and Accounting. Throughout her career, she has been part of senior management in all organizations she has worked with. Currently, Manthethe leads The Compass Management Hub. Her diverse career includes roles such as Country Director at Ripple Effect Lesotho (also supporting the Zambia Country Program), Deputy Country Director of National Alliance for State and Territorial AIDS Directors, South Africa (NASTAD-SA), and Associate Director of Operations at Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) Lesotho. She also served as Lesotho Program Director at CARE Lesotho-South Africa. Manthethe started her career in World Vision Lesotho, where she held various positions ranging from Accounting to Program Management. Over the years, she has successfully managed funding from major entities such as the European Union (EU), United States Government (CDC, USAID), Global Fund, UN Agencies, and private donors. Beyond her professional achievements, Manthethe is an entrepreneur. She also actively engages in several voluntary initiatives. She is passionate about management and leadership, continually growing her knowledge through memberships with various institutions.

Ms. Monethi is a political scientist, researcher, and digital governance strategist specializing in emerging technologies and social impact. Holding a Master of Arts in Political and International Studies, her research critically examines the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and blockchain in advancing sustainable healthcare development in Kenya, challenging dependency theory and advocating for policy-driven innovation in African governance. With extensive academic and consultancy experience, she has presented at conferences such as the International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance (ICEGOV) and the Technology and Society in Africa Conference, contributed to policy discussions, and published on blockchain, AI, and social development. Beyond academia, she supports impactful community initiatives in collaboration with local schools, securing ministerial and community support to improve infrastructure and other educational needs for vulnerable students.

Her professional journey spans various roles in governance, market intelligence, and policy research. She has worked as a research consultant for the South African BRICS Business Council and the Australian Volunteers Program (AVP), tackling pressing socio-economic issues. She has also held research and teaching positions at Rhodes University, where she facilitated undergraduate engagement with political theory, international studies, and French language studies. Recognized for academic excellence, she has received the Dean’s Academic Merit Award, Golden Key International Honour Society Award, and a Best Position Paper award at a G20+6 Model UN session. Actively engaged in professional circles, she serves as Vice President of the Board at Alliance Française Maseru and as a Research Committee Member at the International Political Science Association (IPSA), contributing to global discussions on technology, governance, and political economy.
