Manthethe Moipone Monethi is a highly qualified and experienced management and leadership professional with over 20 years of International NGOs management experience in Southern Africa. She is well-trained and exposed to operations in other parts of the world.

Manthethe holds a Master of Management and a Bachelor Degree in Economics and Accounting. Throughout her career, she has been part of senior management in all organizations she has worked with. Currently, Manthethe leads The Compass Management Hub. Her diverse career includes roles such as Country Director at Ripple Effect Lesotho (also supporting the Zambia Country Program), Deputy Country Director of National Alliance for State and Territorial AIDS Directors, South Africa (NASTAD-SA), and Associate Director of Operations at Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) Lesotho. She also served as Lesotho Program Director at CARE Lesotho-South Africa. Manthethe started her career in World Vision Lesotho, where she held various positions ranging from Accounting to Program Management. Over the years, she has successfully managed funding from major entities such as the European Union (EU), United States Government (CDC, USAID), Global Fund, UN Agencies, and private donors. Beyond her professional achievements, Manthethe is an entrepreneur. She also actively engages in several voluntary initiatives. She is passionate about management and leadership, continually growing her knowledge through memberships with various institutions.

Tlhokomelo Monethi’s multilingual proficiency in Sesotho, English, and French greatly enhances cross-cultural communication within The Compass community. Her ability to bridge cultural divides strengthens our collaborative approach to tackling intricate challenges.

Her influence transcends Lesotho, evident in her role as Vice President at Alliance Française de MASERU, where she fosters cultural understanding and local diversity. A member of the International Political Science Association (IPSA), Ms. Monethi’s expertise is evident in her research on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and blockchain for African development. This research seeks to leverage these technologies to drive positive change across the continent.

As a Research and Development Consultant at The Compass Management Hub, Tlhokomelo drives innovation and growth. Her research prowess shines through her roles as a Research Volunteer at Politics4Her and an Independent Research Consultant for the Australian Volunteers Program. She addresses pressing issues, including the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (PSEAH) landscape in Lesotho, while advocating for the sexual and reproductive rights of women and the LGBTQ+ community. Additionally, her journey includes a Research Internship at eGovern, a UAE-based company pioneering blockchain solutions for digital transformation, enriching her understanding of cutting-edge technologies and fostering innovation within the industry.

Beyond her remarkable professional accomplishments, Ms. Monethi is devoted to effecting positive change through community engagement. As a passionate advocate for social impact, she actively leads The Compass’s CSI initiatives to empower disadvantaged students in Lesotho.
